MTS calls on operators to keep dialogue with state over 5G range
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Sep 24 (PRIME) -- Russian operators should continue the dialogue with the government regarding the use of the 3.4–3.8 GHz frequency range for 5G, Alexei Kornya, head of the country’s major mobile operator MTS, told PRIME on Thursday.
“We all understand that we won’t see it soon, but we should continue the dialogue, including with law enforcers. It needs some time and inspection of different scenarios,” Kornya said.
Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Monday the matter of using the 3.4–3.8 GHz range, the most suitable for 5G, in Russia for new generation networks is not on the agenda so far.
